As the COVID-19 pandemic is taken under control in Turkey the country is getting ready to welcome visitors from all over the world with the strict measures that it has undertaken in the tourism industry amid the normalization process.
Turkey was the first country in the world to launch “Safe tourism certification program”. With the program, health measures have been set out for Turkish and Foreign visitors who will spend a holiday in Turkey.
The “healthy tourism certificate” program was launched jointly by several ministries, including the Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Health Ministry. Its aim is to convince travelers that despite the pandemic, Turkey’s beaches and historic treasures will be safe to visit this year, with rigorous checks on airlines, local transport and hotels receiving the utmost safety guidelines.
The number of hotels applying for the Safe Tourism Certification Program has exceeded 720.
Paying regard to the advice of the Ministry of Health’s Coronavirus Scientific Board, preparations have been completed in Blue Flag awarded beaches in Turkey.
It also has been decided to set up COVID-19 test centers at airports with high passenger volume.
Tourism facilities have begun to develop periodic monitoring forms and checklists for hygiene practices.
Besides that, an insurance system has been developed for tourists coming from abroad, with a limit between 2.000 and 7.000 euros and a coast between 12 and 33 euros.
