Almost 2.5 million foreign tourists have visited Antalya since the beginning of the year

The flow of foreign tourists to the “tourist capital” of Turkey Antalya from the beginning of the year amounted to almost 2.5 million people.

Antalya, famous for its sea, sand, sun, historical monuments, natural beauty, ancient cities and luxury tourist sites, attracts tourists from all over the world.

During the pandemic, this Turkish province also gained fame as a center for healthy and safe recreation, which was made possible by the Safe Tourism certification program implemented by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

All necessary measures to counter the spread of coronavirus infection are strictly observed at tourist sites in Antalya.

The flow of foreign tourists increased after the abolition of restrictions on air traffic with Russia, as well as in connection with the holidays on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

According to the Department of Culture and Tourism of Antalya, 2,401,470 foreign tourists visited the “tourist capital” of Turkey from January 1 to July 15.

Most of the tourists came from Russia, Ukraine, Germany and Poland.

If in January-June 2020 the flow of tourists from Russia to Antalya amounted to 145,550 people, then during the same period of this year, 439,209 Russians visited the province.

From January 1 to July 15, 765 706 Russian tourists arrived in Antalya.

Antalya Governor Ersin Yazici told Anadolu that the lifting of restrictions on air traffic with Russia has motivated the sector to make new strides.

According to the governor, about 50-60 thousand foreign guests arrive in Antalya every day, of which 24-26 thousand, or 40 percent, are Russian tourists.

The flow of tourists is especially noticeable at the weekend, he continued.

“We believe that the flow of tourists from Russia will continue to grow. The active flow of tourists will continue until November, ”added Yazici.
