Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital guarding health of Bishkek residents, guests

The Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital in Bishkek provided medical services to 651 patients in four months. This was, said chief physician of the hospital Mete Hidiroglu.

The modernly equipped 72-bed hospital, built with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), began accepting patients from October 15, 2021.

According to the head physician of the hospital, in the period from October 15, 2021 to February 24, 2022, 1,843 people applied to the hospital, while 1,546 people were examined, and 651 patients received medical care.

“In the period under review, the emergency service of the hospital received 191 calls, 22 operations were performed, three of which were for general surgery and 19 for open heart,” Hidiroglu said.

According to him, the hospital will initiate the first campaign for free mammography, timed to coincide with Women’s Day – 8 March.

Breast cancer is a serious problem in Kyrgyzstan. The action, within the framework of which women who applied to the hospital will be provided with free mammography services, will be held from March 7 to 12, the head physician noted.

According to him, through this campaign, the hospital seeks to contribute to the breast cancer screening program in Kyrgyzstan.

In turn, the head of the hospital’s health and care service, Meltem Ozdemir, said that a modern mammograph was provided through TIKA.

According to her, the hospital attaches great importance to the exchange of professional equipment between the Turkish and Kyrgyz sides.

Abdurrahman Dagdelen, the head of the State Hospital of Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship, said that 64 medical workers from Turkey and 50 from Kyrgyzstan work in the hospital, headed by the head physician Hidiroglu.
