More than 5 million COVID-19 vaccines administered in Turkey’s Istanbul

The total number of doses of vaccines against COVID-19 administered in Istanbul has exceeded 5 million, Turkey’s Health Ministry said

Active efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection continue throughout the country.

In Turkey’s largest city, Istanbul, more than 5 million doses of the vaccine have been distributed (2.93 million for the first dose and 2.07 for the second dose).

In the capital of Turkey, Ankara, more than 2.54 million doses of the vaccine have been administered, the number of the first dose was 1.44 million, the second dose – 1.09 million.

In Izmir, 2.07 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered, of which 1.17 million were for the first dose and 897,000 for the second.

According to operational data available on the COVID-19 Vaccination Information Platform under the Turkish Ministry of Health, the total number of vaccines used in Turkey has reached 30.1 million.

The first dose of the vaccine was given to over 17 million people in Turkey, and the second to over 12 million people.
