Over 121.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Turkey

More than 121.53 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as part of a mass vaccination campaign launched in Turkey on January 14. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Health of the republic on Friday.

According to the ministry, a total of over 56.49 million people received the first doses, and more than 50.87 million citizens were fully vaccinated.

Over the past day, another 25,129 patients have recovered from a dangerous illness.

Another 18,561 cases of infection and 192 deaths were recorded.

The pandemic began with the detection of the first cases of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan, Hubei province in central China at the end of December 2019.

On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) about the outbreak of unknown pneumonia.
