Passenger traffic at Turkish airports tops 96 million in 7 months

Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu announced an increase in the flow of air passengers at the country’s airports.

According to the minister, in January-July 2022, 96.65 million people used the services of airlines, which is 68.6% more than in the first seven months of last year.

During the reporting period, 77.2 thousand were carried out from Turkish airports on domestic lines, and 85.8 thousand on international lines.

Karaismailoglu said that in July 2022, the number of air passengers in the country increased by 24.7 million compared to the same month last year – up to 21.38 million people.

Referring to the indicators of air traffic in the country’s tourist centers, the head of the Ministry of Transport said that only 3.38 million local and 11.86 million foreign tourists passed through Antalya Airport in 7 months. Next are “Adnan Menderes” in Izmir with 5.39 million, Dalaman in Mugla – 2.26 million, Milas-Bodrum – 2.16 million, and Gazipasa (Alanya) – 399 thousand.

According to the minister, the statistics prove the popularity and trust in civil aviation.
