Turkey to support orphans in 30 countries

Employees of the Turkish Humanitarian Foundation “People’s Rights and Freedoms” (İHH) went to 30 countries of the world within the framework of the “Days of Solidarity of Orphans” (YDG) project.

The project, which is running for the 11th time this year, plans to implement 202 initiatives for orphans in 31 countries, including Turkey.

Within the framework of the project, which takes place under the slogan “Great Kindness”, it is planned to repair and build houses, create greenhouses, distribute dairy animals, organize circumcision ceremonies, distribute hygiene packages, medical examinations, distribute stationery, excursions, fly kites, scholarship assistance, creative contests and quizzes.

İHH Secretary General Durmush Aydin said that the organization provides assistance to 135,000 orphans on the basis of sponsorship.

According to him, holding events within the framework of the Days of Solidarity of Orphans is aimed at bringing joy to orphans living in different parts of the world, as well as sharing joyful moments with them.

In turn, Reshat Basher, a board member of the IHH for orphans, said that the foundation attaches great importance to working with orphans.

“It is estimated that there are about 153 million orphans in the world. We need to do more together to support our children,” Basher said.

Philanthropists will be able to make a donation of 10 Turkish lira. To do this, write the word “YETİM” and send a message to 3072.

Those who wish to donate larger amounts can do so on the IHH website by clicking on the “YETİM” link or via bank transfers.
