Türkiye increases exports in national currency

In August 2022, the volume of payments in Turkish lira for products exported by Türkiye increased by 109% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 10.38 billion liras. This is evidenced by the data of the Ministry of Commerce of Türkiye.

During this period, imports in Turkish liras amounted to 23.8 billion liras, and the volume of foreign trade reached 34.18 billion liras.

The total volume of exports in August increased by 13% and amounted to $21.3 billion. In January-August of this year, goods were sold abroad for a total of $165.6 billion.

The volume of Türkiye’s foreign trade in August increased by 28% compared to the same period last year and reached $54 billion. Import operations in the last summer month were carried out for 32.6 billion dollars.

In June, exports in Turkish liras amounted to 9.94 billion liras, while imports amounted to 22.29 billion liras. The volume of foreign trade is 32.23 billion liras.

In July, the aforementioned export figure was 7.95 billion liras, imports 18.58 billion liras, and foreign trade volume 26.54 billion liras.

In January-August this year, exports increased by 75% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 69 billion liras. During the period under review, exports in Turkish liras amounted to 144.15 billion liras, and the volume of foreign trade – 213.16 billion liras.

In August, the number of countries paying for products imported from Türkiye in its national currency amounted to 164, and companies exporting in Turkish lira – 6439.

In July, these figures were 159 and 5529, respectively.
