21 Turkish provinces have no COVID-19 patients in intensive care: minister

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said the number of Turkish provinces without patients in intensive care due to COVID-19 has increased to 21.

Koca stated that the pandemic is leaving the daily life.

“Now we have both the vaccine and the medicine. We think that there is a certain social immunity in the world. As a matter of fact, almost all of our citizens who lost their lives recently are elderly people and have additional diseases. As of today, the number of provinces without patients in intensive care has increased to 21,” he said.

Koca stated that the lowest numbers of hospitalizations and intensive care admissions have been seen since the epidemic began.

“The positive trend seen throughout our country is clearly felt in Adıyaman as well. The coronavirus process has shown that Turkey is one of the best countries in the world in terms of the quality and accessibility of health services, the strength and durability of the health infrastructure. We are determined to carry the level we have reached even further with the vision of our president,” said.

Stating that the next scientific committee meeting will be one of the most important meetings, Koca said, “We want to hold this meeting with broad participation and face to face. That’s why we postponed it until next week.”

The minister told that the pandemic is gradually losing its effect.

“We now know that our hospital load has decreased a lot. On the one hand, we know that we have vaccines that are effective. You know, our three types of vaccines are offered to the preference of our citizens. In this sense, our Turkovac vaccine continues to be produced. I can easily say that there is no supply problem,” he said.
