30M passengers traveled via Turkish airports in Q1

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoglu shared statistics on the number of flights and passenger traffic Turkey’s airports for the first quarter of 2022.

According to the minister, passenger traffic at Turkish airports in the period from January to March this year increased by 67.6% compared to the same period last year and reached 29.6 million people.

The Minister noted that the situation in the field of civil aviation, which had deteriorated greatly throughout the world due to the new type of coronavirus pandemic, began to level off.

In the first three months of the year, the number of domestic flights at Istanbul airports reached 155,000, and international flights – 105,000.

Compared to last year, the number of flights increased by 44.1%.

Passenger traffic on domestic flights in the reporting period amounted to 15.95 million people, and on international flights – 13.6 million people.
