COVID-19 vaccines sent by Turkey arrive in Kyrgyzstan

Some 150,000 doses of Sinovac coronavirus vaccine donated to Kyrgyzstan by the Turkish government have been delivered to Bishkek.

At the Manas International Airport, the plane with the vaccines was welcomed by Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Health and Social Development Alimkadyr Beishenaliev and the Turkish Ambassador to Bishkek Akhmet Sadyk Dogan.

Beishenaliev thanked Turkey for the support provided to Kyrgyzstan in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.

The minister added that the Sinovac vaccine will be administered to citizens over 18 years of age.

At the moment, more than 700,000 people have been vaccinated in Kyrgyzstan.

The population of the country is 6.5 million people.

Over the past day, more than 4,100 tests for the presence of coronavirus have been done in the country. 104 new cases and 2 deaths from COVID-19 have been identified.
