Cruise ship Odyssey of the Seas moored off the coast of Kusadasi

The giant cruise liner Odyssey of the Seas under the flag of the Bahamas made a call at the port of Kusadasi in the Turkish province of Aydin.

The luxury cruise ship carries 4,281 passengers and 1,800 crew members.

A huge vessel 347 meters long was greeted with folk dances in the port.

Some of the passengers went on an excursion to the ancient city of Ephesus in the Selcuk region of the province of Izmir and the House of the Virgin (Meryemana Evi) located here.

Royal Carriabean Cruise’s newest Odyssey of the Seas went out of the water last year.

It offers passengers 14 decks, 15 restaurants, 2 swimming pools and 2105 comfortable cabins.

Regional Director of Global Ports Holding for the Eastern Mediterranean, General Manager of the port of Kusadasi Aziz Gunger said that Odyssey of the Seas is the largest cruise ship that has ever called at a Turkish port.

According to him, 16 calls of the vessel to the port of Kusadasi are planned this year.

“The port of Kusadasi will continue to receive huge cruise liners throughout the season. The reception of the world’s largest ships carrying thousands of passengers is a clear indication of the great interest in Turkey and Kusadasi, one of the most important cruise destinations in the Mediterranean,” he added.
