Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he had a mild case of COVID-19.
Having recovered from the illness, the Turkish leader spoke to reporters after Friday prayers in Istanbul.
“Of course, vaccination had an affect. I was vaccinated with two components of the Sinovac vaccine, and a booster vaccine – BioNTech. After 4-5 days, the coronavirus test showed a negative result,” the head of state said.
Edogan said that during the COVID-19 period he did not feel weak and tired: “I worked at home both on domestic issues and on international issues.”
According to the president, his wife, Emine Erdogan, has not yet recovered and is in quarantine.
I hope that she will recover by Monday, Erdogan said.
