More than 8 million tourists visit Türkiye’s Antalya

The tourist capital of Türkiye – Antalya in the period from Jan. 1 to Aug. 17 of this year was visited by more than 8 million foreign tourists.

With the growth of the tourist flow, this tourist region of Türkiye began to return to pre-pandemic indicators. Last year, Antalya received about 9 million tourists.

Due to its climatic conditions and historical sights, Antalya can receive tourists all year round.

Germany has become the leader in terms of tourist flow to Antalya for 7.5 months this year. From this country, 1.36 million travelers arrived in the tourist capital of Türkiye, which is 250% more than in 2021 for the same period.

Russia, which in previous years occupied a leading position, this year is in second place. Thus, the number of Russian tourists who arrived in Antalya this year amounted to 1.28 million (an increase of 13% compared to the same period last year).

This is followed by the U.K. – 617,000 tourists, Poland – 392,000, and the Netherlands – 236,000.

Antalya Governor Ersin Yazici also noted the growth of tourist flow to the region.

“The number of tourists who arrived in Antalya has exceeded 8 million. This indicator is far ahead of the statistics of the same period last year. Over a long period, on average, more than 70,000 travelers are registered in Antalya per day. The authorities of the region often hold meetings with representatives of the tourism sector. Until the end of October, most hotels are generally booked. We look forward to a successful end to the tourist season,” Yazici said.
