More Turkovac vaccines shipped to hospitals across Turkey

The new series of Turkey’s domestic COVID-19 vaccine, Turkovac, have started shipping to city hospitals across the country.

Vaccines in the Vaccine and Drug Warehouse of the Ministry of Health, General Directorate of Public Health, were loaded on trucks yesterday afternoon and sent to city hospitals by road.

Ankara Provincial Health Directorate cold chain officer Cengiz Koz, who made a statement to the press in the warehouse in Pursaklar, where the vaccines are located, said that they have started to make the second delivery of Turkovac jabs.

Stating that the process from the factory where the vaccine is produced to the warehouse is examined, Koz said the cold chain cards of the vaccines arriving at the warehouse are examined.

The vaccines enter the inventory record after the QR coding process, Koz explained.

“We made our first shipment to the Ankara Provincial Health Directorate, and from there it will be delivered to the Ankara City Hospital,” he said.

The vaccines should be kept at 2-8 degrees, Koz said, adding that the jabs were sent to hospitals with cold chain vehicles after being delivered to 81 cities by trucks.
