No COVID-19 cases in intensive care in 3 Turkish provinces

No COVID-19 patients are being treated in intensive care in three southeastern Turkish provinces: Batman, Siirt and Bingöl.

Batman Provincial Health Director Dr. Hakan Pamukçu said that health care workers have been fighting heroically against the coronavirus.

Stating that the pandemic has reached a good point as a result of the support of the citizens and vaccinations, Pamukçu noted that the number of patients hospitalized in the intensive care and service in Batman has been reset.

“Currently, we do not have any COVID-19 patients in the service and intensive care units of all public and private hospitals in Batman,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bingöl Provincial Health Director Mehmet Emin Gündoğdu stated that the number of cases in the province was high in December-January, and then there was a continuous decrease in the number of cases for the last three months, especially with the increase in vaccination rates.

Noting that there are currently no patients in intensive care units due to COVID-19, Gündoğdu pointed out that the number of hospitalized patients throughout the province is limited to a few people.

Gündoğdu said, “Especially with the introduction of the vaccine in the fight against the epidemic, the number of cases and hospitalizations decreased. As a result, we can say that we are much closer to the days we miss.”

Siirt Provincial Health Director Erol Emre Ömür said that the coordinated work of the health organization and other institutions with COVID-19 is commendable.

Stating that he thinks they have come to the end of the struggle they started in the city on March 21, 2020 with the epidemic, Ömür said, “We have had approximately 50 thousand cases since the first day in Siirt. Unfortunately, we lost 420 citizens in this process. As of today, our inpatients in Siirt Training and Research Hospital have decreased to only 3. We do not have any inpatients in the intensive care unit. A total of We have 14 inpatients. Thankfully, our daily case numbers have dropped to single figures. We are going with 5, 6, 7’s. I hope we will see zero soon.”

Stating that they are upset that the vaccination rate in the city is not at the level they want in the fight against the epidemic, Ömür said, “I hope a new wave will not affect us. Because when a new wave comes, the rate of unvaccinated people is high, unfortunately Siirt will be affected by it.”
