The number of tourists who have visited Antalya since the beginning of this year has reached more than 8 million people, said the office of the governor of the Turkish province, citing data from the regional office for culture and tourism.
Tourists continue to arrive in the “tourist capital” of Turkey.
“If in the period from Jan. 1, 2020 to Oct. 17, 2020 Antalya was visited by 3 million, then for the same period of this year this figure reached 8,038,761 people,” the statement said.
According to the published data, the number of tourists arriving in Antalya by air increased by 162% compared to the same period last year.
The number of tourists visiting the region in the first 17 days of October increased by 105% over the same period last year, the report said.
