Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy shared a positive outlook for the tourism season in 2021 on Tuesday.
Ersoy stressed that Turkey’s Safe Tourism certification program is one of the most effective in the world.
“The Safe Tourism Certification Program inspires confidence in Turkish tourists. We are getting positive results. I don’t think there will be problems with domestic tourism this year,” the minister said.
Ersoy recalled that Turkey also continues negotiations with Russia on the resumption of flights, which were suspended last month due to the epidemiological situation.
“The daily increase in coronavirus cases continues to decline. The positive trend continues. But we should wait for the mark below 5,000 infections per day,” Ersoy said.
According to the minister, the decision of the past borders is followed, the countries of the world rely on indicators for the epidemiological situation.
“Negotiations on the opening of borders with the European Union are also continuing. Intensive negotiations will take place next week. At the same time, decisions are made not at the EU level, but at the level of individual states. Everyone makes a decision for himself, ”continued Ersoy.
The Minister recalled the decision of the EU countries to receive tourists who received doses of the vaccine against COVID-19. The decision is also relevant for Turkey, he said.
