The Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital in Bishkek has begun admitting patients.

The modern 72-bed hospital was built with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

The Minister of Health and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev and the coordinator of the TİKA program in Bishkek Osman Usta, accompanied by the chief physician of the hospital, Doctor of Sciences Ozgur Chelebi, walked along the corridors of the hospital, covering an area of about 12 thousand square meters.

Minister of Health and Social Development Beishenaliev said that the opening of the medical facility made Kyrgyzstanis happy. “The hospital, which employs 30 Turkish medical workers, has started receiving patients. This is an event that the people of Kyrgyzstan have been waiting for a very long time, ”the minister said.

According to him, at the initial stage, the hospital will receive patients with cardiological, vascular and thoracic diseases. “Complex operations will be carried out in the hospital, which will allow citizens to undergo treatment without going abroad,” the head of the department stated.

Beishenaliev recalled that within the framework of the agreement, the hospital will be jointly managed by the Kyrgyz and Turkish sides for three years.

As soon as the hospital is ready for full-fledged work, it is planned to hold an official opening with the participation of the heads of state of the two countries, Beishenaliev added.
