Turkey sends 200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Niger

Some 200,000 doses of the 500,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine donated by Turkey to Niger were delivered to the minister of health, population and social affairs of Niger during a ceremony held at Niamey Airport, the Turkish Embassy said.

Speaking at the ceremony, Turkish Ambassador Mustafa Türker Ari recalled that Turkey provided equipment and devices to Niger in June and July 2020 as part of the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.

Highlighting Niger’s efforts to fight the epidemic, Ambassador Ari noted that Turkey will continue to support Niger.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced at the 3rd Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit held in Istanbul on 16-18 December 2021 that 15 million doses of Sinovac vaccine will be donated to African countries.
