Turkey sends medical aid to Algeria to combat COVID-19

Turkey donated medical equipment to Algeria to combat a novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

The head of the Ministry of Health of the North African country Abderrahman Benbouzid and the Turkish Ambassador to Algeria Mahinur Ozdemir Gektas took part in the ceremony in the capital of Algeria.

Benbouzid noted that medical equipment will be distributed among hospitals as soon as possible.

According to the minister, Algeria plans to sign an agreement with Ankara in the near future to meet the needs of hospitals in medicines and medical equipment.

In turn, the ambassador said that in addition to Algeria, Turkey has transferred medical equipment only to the United States.

According to the diplomat, this assistance is an indicator of the importance of fraternal Algeria for Turkey.

Algerian hospitals in particular received 8 tons of medical equipment, including 25 ventilators and 2 equipment for PCR analysis.

Turkey previously sent medical aid to Algeria to fight the coronavirus.
