Turkey’s health minister gets Turkish-made Turkovac jab

Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca received Turkish-made COVID-19 vaccine Turkovac as a third (booster) dose.

Koca underwent revaccination at the Ankara City Hospital at the end of the virtual meeting of the Scientific Council on Combating the Spread of Coronavirus.

“I strongly recommend that our citizens get vaccinated with Turkovac, including revaccination with this drug,” he told reporters.

According to Koca, from Thursday in Turkey, the domestically produced vaccine will be available in city hospitals.

The minister also warned of an increase in the number of cases of coronavirus infections in recent days. According to him, this is due to the fact that in winter people spend more time indoors. Another reason for the high incidence is the rapid spread of the omicron strain, he added.

At the same time, Koca noted that the number of hospitalizations did not increase.

The head of the department urged fellow citizens to spend less time in closed spaces and take precautions, including wearing medical masks.
