As part of the fight against the novel COVID-19, Turkey’s Ministry of National Defense produced over 80 million masks.
In addition to masks, more than 500,000 overalls and 210,000 liters of disinfectants were also produced at the Mechanical and Chemical Industrial Corporation and the military sewing houses.
In a statement from the Ministry of Defense, since the advent of COVID-19 in Turkey, Mechanical and Chemical Industrial Corporation
has been trying to meet the demand for masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE). The Ministry mentioned that the staff members in the military sewing workshops have been devotedly working in order to increase the pace of production of PPE.
“More than 80 million masks, over 500 thousand overalls and more than 210,000 liters of disinfectant were produced in our units. Our personnel have been working to meet the high demand of our noble nation, as well as, the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces. Our production continues uninterruptedly,” the statement said.
