Turkish delegation to discuss Sputnik vaccine deliveries in Russia

The Turkish delegation, which arrived in Russia on Monday, will discuss the supply of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus – Sputnik V.

At the end of April, Turkey announced that it has signed an agreement to purchase 50 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine, which will begin shipping this month.

The deliveries are expected to be completed within six months.

The country has issued a permit for the use of the Russian vaccine in emergencies.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), which is responsible for marketing Sputnik V, said last month that the Turkish firm would also support its plants.

About 10.8 million people in Turkey were fully vaccinated, or 13% of the population, with 14.9 million people receiving the first dose of the vaccine.
