Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced the number of COVID-19 cases for every 100,000 people in the week from July 31 to August 6 in the provinces of Turkey.
During the reported week, a relatively large number of cases were confirmed in provinces with low vaccination rates.
According to the Ministry of Health, the number of weekly COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people was 182.21 in Istanbul, 184.58 in Ankara and 65.85 in Izmir.
While in the week from July 24 to July 30 the number of COVID-19 cases for every 100,000 people was 1139.64, in the reported week it was 974.40.
Despite the fact that the number of cases decreased, Siirt was again a province with many cases of infection.
The provinces with the largest increase in COVID-19 cases over the past week are Rize, Batman, Diyarbakir, Artvin and Bingol.
